Carlos Varela Da Costa is a Managing Director in the Asset Management Business Development team. His career in Asset Management started in 1998 when he joined JPMorgan as a graduate. In his 23 years tenure at JPMorgan Asset Management, he has been Head of Sales Iberia, Head of Institutional Business for Latin America and lately Head of Client Solutions EMEA within the Sustainable investing team.

Seasoned asset management leader with a successful track record in business development and a deep global perspective managing client relationships across different channels (Institutional and Wealth) in Europe, US and LatAm. Trusted advisor to sovereign institutions, pension funds, insurance companies, global private banks and asset managers with proven ability to identify business opportunities, raise capital, expand client base and set up sales operations in new territories. Strengths include extensive Sustainable Investing and ESG expertise, strong technical knowledge across asset classes including alternatives and proven experience leading high performing sales and client solutions teams.

Carlos holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Carlos III University.
