Alantra advises Maus Frères on the disposal of Jumbo

Zurich – Alantra is pleased to announce it has advised Swiss family holding Maus Frères SA (“Maus Frères”) on the sale of Jumbo-Markt AG (“Jumbo”) to Coop Genossenschaft (“Coop”). The transaction is subject to customary merger clearance approvals.
Based in Dietlikon (Switzerland), Jumbo has been one of the pioneers in the Swiss DIY landscape and developed a very attractive DIY offering and store network over the last 3 decades. With 1’500 employees in 40 store locations across all regions of Switzerland, Jumbo is today in close proximity to the majority of the Swiss population.
Coop is headquartered in Switzerland and operates in the retail, wholesale, and production sectors. Coop Group operates store formats in the food, non-food and service sectors and generates sales in excess of CHF 30bn.
