Alantra has advised i2S, an ECS Capital and Pathena PE/VC funds Portuguese IT firm focused on developing software for insurance companies, on its sale to Gfi Informatique, a multinational IT player.
i2S established itself as a relevant player in the Portuguese, Angolan and Mozambican markets with more than 40 insurance company software implementations across a wide range of countries, including Spain, France, Brazil, Poland and Cape Verde. The company has an annual turnover of more than €13m and employs c. 220 highly skilled workers specialized in the insurance and IT sectors.
The Gfi Group, present in more than 20 countries, is a leading provider of value-added IT services and software. Gfi occupies a differentiated strategic position between global firms and niche entities with its multi-specialist profile. The Group brings a unique combination of proximity, sector-based organization and industrial-quality solutions to its clients. The Group, with around 19,500 employees, generated c. €1.4Bn in revenue in 2018.
This transaction caps the successful implementation of i2S’ development strategy led by ECS Capital and Pathena in partnership with the management team, which focused on developing innovative software solutions for insurance companies.
