Alantra advised Colosseum Dental Group, a fully owned portfolio company by Jacobs Holding on the acquisition of 70% of the Italian dental clinics chain Odontosalute.
At present, Colosseum has sales in excess of €250m and operates more than 150 clinics in Norway, Sweden, the UK, Switzerland, Italy and Denmark. With this acquisition, Colosseum will further expand into continental Europe and become one of the leading dentistry clinic operators in Italy. With this transaction Colosseum has made a significant progress in the creation of a leading pan-European dental clinics platform following the recent investments in dental clinics businesses across Europe (Norway, UK and Switzerland).
The Odontosalute network comprises around 40 dental clinics in Italy of which 10 directly operated and 30 in franchising. In 2016 Odontosalute had revenues of roughly €20m with an EBITDA of €3.5m.
