San Francisco – Alantra, a leading global investment bank and asset management firm, is pleased to announce that AdvisorStream has been sold to Broadridge Financial Solutions (NYSE:BR), a global Fintech leader. The transaction closed on June 9, 2021 and the deal value was not disclosed.
Based in Toronto, Canada, with offices in New York and London, AdvisorStream is a leading digital marketing platform that allows wealth management companies and independent financial advisors to engage with investors by using vetted content in branded newsletters, blogs and social media to create hyper-personalized communications. By combining marketing automation with timely and relevant paywall-free content from top publishers such as Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Business Insider, and Bloomberg, among others, AdvisorStream enables financial advisors to communicate, educate, and connect with clients to drive growth.
“We are thrilled to have partnered with AdvisorStream on this successful sale to a global Fintech leader with an aligned vision and network to accelerate the modernization of digital engagement in wealth management and financial services,” said Irfan Iqbal, Partner with Alantra. “Kevin Mulhern and his team were at the forefront of leveraging high-quality ‘walled garden’ content for impactful interactions with clients and prospects.”
“When CTO and co-founder Martin Hill and I determined it was the right time to find a truly transformative strategic partner to help accelerate the adoption of our top-rated content marketing platform for wealth managers, we knew we would need a top investment bank,” said Kevin Mulhern, co-Founder of AdvisorStream. “Irfan and his team at Alantra are dedicated, strategic thinkers with a deep and wide understanding of the global fintech space. The team evaluated our many options and helped us understand the complex deals on the table. They did the heavy lifting, leaving our team to run a fast-growing business, and their vast experience was critical in guiding us through the emotions that arise for a small fintech player being acquired by a global public company. We could not be happier with their work and our decision to partner with Alantra on our journey,” Mulhern concluded.
“The events of 2020 have transformed the nature of advisor and client collaboration and communications. They have also heightened overall investor expectations for personalized and relevant communications from their advisor,” said Michael Alexander, President of Wealth Management at Broadridge, in a company statement. “AdvisorStream’s platform provides the most effective means for advisors to engage, convert and nurture relationships by leveraging highly credible content across digital channels. The acquisition of AdvisorStream is the latest example of Broadridge growing our wealth management business by expanding our core offerings for clients.”
This transaction further enhances Alantra’s growing Financial Technology, Vertical SaaS and Enterprise MarTech practice areas. The Alantra team advising AdvisorStream included Mr. Iqbal, Allen Kogan and Jon Ng.
